Q: How do I turn ScreenDim on or off?
A: Tap on the box to the left of "Active".

Q: How do I adjust brightness with ScreenDim while in some other app?
A: Tap the left side of the status bar on the top of the screen. When finished press the BACK button or tap outside the ScreenDim window (Compact Mode).

Q: But I can't see a status bar while in the Kindle reader?!
A: Just tap the middle of the screen and it will appear.

Q: I want to see the application behind ScreenDim while adjusting!
A: Switch ScreenDim to compact mode by pressing MENU and choosing "Compact view".

Q: How do I save my favorite settings?
A: Set the sliders to the settings you want, and then hold one of the five preset buttons at the bottom of the screen down for about two seconds.

Q: What's the difference between the two sliders?
A: The top slider adjusts brightness or backlight level and the bottom one adjusts contrast. Reducing the top slider saves battery life.

Q: How do I set ScreenDim to start up on boot?
A: As a safety measure in case you set the screen too dim, ScreenDim does not activate on boot. However, if you press MENU (or "More options") and press "Settings", you can set the "Notification bar" option to "always". This will make ScreenDim accessible from the status bar even when ScreenDim is not active, and this will work even after a reboot.
Q: I am annoyed by the ebook sample display!
A: You can turn it off by pressing MENU and "Settings", and unchecking "Show ebook sample".
Q: How do I activate a ScreenDim function with Tasker?
A: When setting a Tasker action, choose "App", then "Load", and then select ScreenDim. Then under "Data" put in one of the ScreenDim action codes, and put a checkmark beside "Exclude From Recent Apps". The following are the ScreenDim action codes:
1, 2, 3, 4 and 5: load preset 1-5
off: disable ScreenDim
auto: disable ScreenDim and set automatic brightness
cycle: cycle through ScreenDim presets
